Bill Loper - Artistic Director
| "If you can walk you can run, if you can talk, you can sing" is Bill's credo as music teacher and choral and instrumental music director. This fall he begins his eighth year serving as Artistic Director of Harmony. Recently retired from Evergreen High School, he taught band, choir, orchestra, acting, aerobics (yes, aerobics!) and coached track and cross country. In 2005 the Bill Loper Performing Arts Scholarship was established in his honor, awarding $1500 each year to one EHS graduate who participated in and would pursue a career in the performing arts. He also received the Governors Award for Excellence in Education (1996) and the KCNC "Teacher Who Makes a Difference" (1988). He has directed over twenty musicals, and has performed onstage in "Fiddler on the Roof", "South Pacific", "Oklahoma" (as Ali Hakim), "Man of La Mancha" (Sancho), and Norman is That You? (Norman). Bill is honored and thrilled to be working with Harmony in the GALA Choruses movement, as we celebrate the power and joy of GLBTS voices! |
